About Us
Park Plazas is a covenant-enhanced community nestled amid a thousand trees. It is a planned unit development of 442 homes clustered around 36 plazas (cul-de-sacs) on 154 acres. Almost half the development, covering 75 acres, is designated as open space. The common areas are linked by eight miles of paved walking paths.

In addition to the pathways, amenities include tennis courts, basketball hoops, an off-leash dog court, playgrounds for children, a lot for RV parking and storage, a Parcourse fitness circuit, even a pétanque piste. With all its trees and xeriscaping, Park Plazas has long been known as the “Green Place” in high-desert Santa Fe.

Developed by Walt Chapman and the Chapman Companies starting in the mid-1970s, the community was built over almost 20 years, with the last homes completed in 1993. Home sizes range from just under 1000 square feet to over 4000 square feet. The larger homes are generally located in an enclave called The Estates at Park Plazas. Most of the homes have between two and four bedrooms, with one or two baths, and with either a one- or two-car garage. Some of the plazas feature standalone single-family homes, while others have townhomes configured in pairs, trios and quartets.

While Park Plazas is peaceful and green, it is also conveniently located, close to shopping and restaurants, just a few miles south of Santa Fe’s Plaza. Schools are nearby, including Santa Fe Community College. The Genoveva Chavez Community Center is another neighbor, offering ice skating, swimming and other recreational opportunities.

From longtime residents to relative newcomers, we all feel fortunate to live in such a special place.
